1996- Taking from the same collection of classic comic books I was inspired by such as Deadpool, Wolverine vs. Omega Red was originally the cover from X-Men #7 by Jim Lee. (I had originally done a smaller version back in 1991, but liked the image so much that I decided to draw it again on a larger scale in 1996.) Comic books had always inspired me to draw, but this would be one of the last ‘freehand copies’ I would do.
Things began to fall apart in mid/late-1996. I got in a fight with my parents and decided to move in with my girlfriend effectively and quickly ostracizing them in the process. My parents and family were unable to accept my decision to move in with a girlfriend of mine after I had dated her for about 6 months.  I really didn’t comprehend the profoundly negative impact at the time of my decision and the repercussions would be farlasting.  Â
