It also tells you about the things currently going-on in my life related to my quest for autographs, trading cards, and football. 11/27/2011- Hit 500 posts today since I started about a year and a half ago. It’s been a nice run so far!
11/30/2011 – Had some cards burning a hole in my pocket so I got out some UT UD 2011 cards to Russell Erxleben and Roosevelt Leaks today. Will get out a December group later this week.
12/2 Going out tomorrow: Barry Foster, Harvey Williams, and Ricky Proehl.
12/3 Awesome- 2 former WLAFers- Grantis Bell (Orlando) and Michael Proctor (Montreal) signed some cards for me!
12/5 James Williams- one of the few players in football history to be drafted by 3 expansion franchises, signed 2 cards for me!
12/6 Visisted Houston today and netted Owen Daniels, Mario Williams and JJ Watt!
12/7 Opened up a blaster box of Score 2011 and received an autograph from WR Brandon LaFell!
12/9 Got back Grantis Bell’s autograph on that other card I sent to him. Also got a nixie from the Nighthawks for Morlon Greenwood. Not cool if you are trying to build a fanbase UFL, and you waited till early December to shoot it back.
12/10 Former UT All-American Russel Erxleben signed 2 cards in 10 days!
12/12 Requests for long in the tooth Ezra Johnson, and promising speedster Mike Williams out today!
12/13 Congratulations to the Texans on winning their first ever division championship. Sent out to wr Kevin Walter of the Texans today!
12/14 CC sent to Frank Wattelet, former New Orleans Saints S from the 80s. Should hear something back by the end of the year since we chat from time to time.
12/22 Dry spell here atm but nothing big. Sent out for a few current players: Dwight Freeney, Greg Jennings, and Matt Hasselbeck.
12/24 Sent out for Jeff Garcia, -currently of the Texans. Also got back an RTS on Ezra Johnson with a Vacant sticker, (however the person was kind enough to open the envelope…) but broke the short dry spell with a success from Frank Wattelet on a custom card I did for him!
1/2/12 Going out tomorrow to be added to the HoF: Randall Cunningham & William “The Fridge” Perry.
1/4/12 Went out today: Richard “911″ Johnson & Eric Moulds.
1/6/12 Larry Johnson went out today!
1/7/12 Got an email commitment from former Montreal Machine 1991 receiver Mike Cadore and went to the Houston Texans viewing party where I scored 2 more Rod Babers autographs!
1/10/12 Sent out for WLAF alums Mike Cadore and Kerwin Bell today!
1/11/12 The wait is over. Got a 2fer today forwarded from my old address in California as WR Stacey Simmons signed 2 cards along with LB Bryan Cox.
1/14/12 First 2012 success came in today: William Perry! (3 cards, under 2 weeks). Returned the UFL cards to the ‘draft’ section while I tinker with it or decide to keep it up. Extremely disappointed in the lack of response from UFL player clubs. With the response from ‘The Fridge’ I have added in a 2012 section that will house all the 2012 players I wrote to and had success from.
1/17/12 Starting to thaw out last month’s requests with a signature from Packers WR Greg Jennings!
1/18/12 Reached out to a few more former WLAFers through facebook, but it appears that avenue is dead. Looking at volunteering for another event next month, which would net me a huge return on players. Stay tuned!
1/20/12 While composing another post, I realized I had forgotten to scan in a player from my initial run. WR Pete Mandley has been added to the dockett for the end of this month. In the meantime I’m back to a weekly posting format.
1/25/12 Sending out for hopeful 2012 NFL HoF inductee Dermontti Dawson, bruising Baylor/Vikings FB Alfred Anderson, and Broncos tight end Orson ‘Big O’ Mobley today.
1/30/12 Very quick response from FB Alfred Anderson (Baylor Bears-Vikings) who I met on SotL! Probably one of my best in person experiences, as I got Eric Metcalf on 10 cards, and Heisman Trophy Winner Charlie Ward today!
2/2/12 Got a 2 fer on Groundhog Day with Orson Mobley and Dominic Rhodes (NFL/UFL) signing cards for me!
2/5/12 Mike Cadore- former Montreal Machine return man signed 2 cards for me today!
2/8/12 Going out this month: David Garrard, Tim Krumrie, Bob Griese, & Jerry Glanville.
2/14/12 Really excited to get an email confirmation for an autograph from former Texas Longhorn legend, quarterback James Brown!
2/15/12 The Buffet Nation of 1300 The Zone and Rod Babers were at a Whataburger just a few miles from me so I decided to stop by! Good times with Rod and Chuck!
2/17/12 Nice retry! Kerwin Bell signed 2 cards in under 40 days today.
2/18/12 Annoyingly struck out on trying to attend the NFL UT Alumni Bowling event. Apparently being cheap enough for the common man to attend is not in their vocabulary. Did finally get 2 out the door today: Former Texas QB James Brown and Houston Oilers QB Jerry Glanville.
2/21/12 Darryll Lewis, former Houston Oiler CB signed 2 cards in 180 days! David Garrard, Tim Krumrie, and Bob Griese out to the mailbox tomorrow!
