CAREER SNAPSHOT:

  • Joe Nash went undrafted out of Boston College and was a free agent signee of the Seattle Seahawks in 1982.

  • He was used early in his career as a nose tackle, and then switched over to defensive tackle in 1990.

  • In 1985 Joe had perhaps his best statistical season with 9 sacks and 87 total tackles.
  • During the season opener in 1993 he recorded his only interception- a 13 yard he returned for a TD against San Diego.

  • Played for the Seahawks through 1996, starting 169 of 218 contests, a franchise record.
Action Packed 1990, #255

ACCOLADES:

  • Pro Bowl 1984

  • First Team All-Pro 1984

  • Seattle Seahawks 35th Anniversary Team

NOTES:

Joe Nash also appears in both Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl. He along with Bob Nelson (GB) appear in a 3-4 defensive set, and at the snap could be timed to dive and sack the quarterback. While this is considered an exploit of the game, we banned it entirely from competitive play.

Joe is well loved by old school Seahawks fans. He has returned on occasion as Seattle alumni and has even raised the flag as the 12th Man. He also worked for many years on a pit crew in NASCAR.

Joe’s Pro Set 1989 card really sticks out to me. I just love the photo of the action with the action going on around him. Just so well framed.

NOTES:

Jamie wrote me a nice note thanking me for writing him. He has an amazing autograph, with just the right amount of pressure and curves, and an elegant enough stroke, at just the right size. Jamie was lucky, to play when he did, as he had some great cards produced during his playing days.

NOTES:
I still have a few cards from the Akron Acquisition way way back in 2012 to post. Bryan had some easy to get TTMers at the time, and I didn’t have a solution to posting players I’d already acquired, so there’s a few of these still floating around in my drafts.

Anyway, I figured after I got him TTM again, I’d post these up with some other cards I had really wanted him to sign. I don’t go back to the well typically but once at least every 5 years, and most of the time it’s more like 10. Since I hadn’t gotten a response from him in 2019 or 2020, one of my friends sent the Fleer 90 of Bobby that I wanted for a set need in exchange for me sending him an autographed piece of memorabilia from Brian Orapko.

Unfortunately every time I’ve written Bobby since my success, I’ve failed, while others have succeeded. I may need a more novel approach to get those additional cards signed by him.
