Calhoun, Taveze

Card: Panini Contenders 2016
Acquired: 2016, Box Breaker

Taveze Calhoun played cornerback for Mississippi State from 2012 to 2015. A 3 year starter, he posted 158 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 21 passes defended, 3 forced fumbles, and 6 interceptions for 98 yards. He was invited to the combine, and while scouts loved his overall frame, grit, and leadership, they feared that his lack of top overall speed would not translate to the NFL. After not being selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, Taveze signed with the Chicago Bears, but would be released during final cuts. The New Orleans Saints signed Calhoun to their practice squad a few days later, but he’d be again released during final cuts in 2017. As of early 2018, Taveze is a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Seymour, Kevon

Card: Panini Contenders 2016
Acquired:  2016, Box Breaker

Although injuries slowed down his Senior campaign, Kevon Seymour distinguished himself enough to be recognized by scouts as a reputable defensive back. Outside of his special teams contributions, Seymour had 126 tackles, three interceptions,19 deflections, and one fumble recovery in 24 games. After he was selected in the 6th round of the 2016 draft, he made the roster of the Buffalo Bills, thanks in part to a strong preseason performance. With 3 starts and 15 games under his belt, Seymour had 14 tackles, 8 special teams tackles, and 3 pass deflections his rookie year. Losing out for the nickle back position in camp in 2017, Kevon was among a flurry of last minute trades executed by teams making final cutdowns. He’d be traded straight up by the Bills to the Panthers for Kaelin Clay and a 2019 7th round pick.

Bosa, Joey

Joey Bosa has been hailed as the second coming of JJ Watt by some. The son of former Miami Dolphin John Bosa had an eye popping career at Ohio State and impressive measurables to boot. The 3rd overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers finished with 148 total tackles, 51 tackles for loss, 26 sacks, and 5 forced fumbles in only 3 years.

Joey finished his rookie year with San Diego with 29 tackles and 10.5 sacks. In 2017 he continued his tear where he became the fastest player to reach 20 sacks, doing so in only 20 games.  He concluded the 2017 season with

I was pretty hot on Bosa entering into the 2016 NFL Draft. He and Ezekiel Elliot were the best players on my draft board, but I knew they’d both be gone early before the Texans came up.  I hoped to pull an autograph of Bosa at some point but had no luck at all- so I decided to go TTM.

Well beggars can’t be choosers- as the Sage Artistry that I really liked did not come back to me. Instead Joey sent me a Panini Contenders School Colors card. Not that I am complaining or anything. There has been speculation that the autographs coming back were fakes of Bosa, but really they just look badly rushed. Also if they were fakes, then why stop signing all together?  With that being said, Bosa at this time no longer signs autographs through his home address anymore.
