Josey, Henry

sage14 hjosey

Card: Sage 2014
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Henry Josey is chasing the dream and you have to admire a man like that. After running for 263 yards in one game as a Sophmore for Missou, catching 175 passes, and running for over a thousand yards twice in his career, you’d think a guy’s name with 4.4 speed would be etched on a map somewhere for a professional team, but things didn’t work out that way for Josey.

Going undrafted he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014. While he had a great preseason rushing for the Eagles, averaging 6.6 yards per carry on 225 yards, he was part of the final painful round of cuts.  From there, the Barry Sanders sized running back has been on rosters of the Colts, Jaguars, and the Vikings -just in 2014.

After being cut by the Vikings in 2015, Henry signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.  He rushed for 30 yards, and had 4 receptions in his debut season for the Argos.

Harris, Anthony

sage14 aharrisCard: Sage Authentic 2014 (#24/30)
Acquired: 2014, Twitter Promotion

Anthony Harris piled up some serious numbers while playing free safety for the University of Virginia. In 2013 he had 80 total tackles, 6 passes defensed, and led the nation with 8 interceptions.  Harris started 35 games  for the Cavaliers, recorded 145 tackles, 2 sacks, 19 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles. Suprisingly, he went undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft Later he signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

The second card given to me as part of winning a Sage Twitter Promotion, this Authentic Autograph card is actually a pretty nice piece.  It was an afterthought in getting an authentic Todd Gurley, but he’s starting to make noise in Minnesota. He made the Practice Squad and in December was elevated to the 53 man roster.  Harris started the final 2 games of the season, and recorded 14 combined tackles, and 2 passes defensed on the season.

Darby, Alden ‘The Juice Man’

Card: Sage 2014
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Alden finished his career at Arizona State with 217 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 10 interceptions at Strong Safety. He had 2 interceptions he returned for TDs, oddly both against the USC Trojans. He ran a decent 4.5 40,  displays the physical prowess to play all positions in the secondary, and is a smart gunner on special teams, but went undrafted in 2014. A practice squad mainstay so far in his brief NFL career, Darby has yet to see game time action outside of the preseason. Picked up by the San Diego Chargers in 2014, he signed with the Steelers in 2015, but was cut in early September of that year. The New Orleans Saints quickly scooped Darby up and added him to their practice squad.  He was signed to a futures contract by the squad in 2016.
