sage15 dossCard: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Converted wide receiver Lorenzo Doss played collegiality at Tulane. A three year starter for the Green Wave at corner, Doss earned All-Conference honors in 2012 and 2013. A strong competitor with a desire to make the big play, Lorenzo had 33 pass breakups and 15 interceptions- 2 of which he returned for touchdowns. His 271 interception return yards were a school record. Displaying quick feet, and 40 speed (4.47), Doss’ size (5’10”, 190) and penchant to gamble did not sit well with scouts. They graded him as a 5th or 6th round pick.

Selected by the Denver Broncos with the 164th pick of the 2015 NFL draft, Doss’ made the squad but was a healthy scratch for all 16 games. He is expected to clean up his tackling and join the squad as a slot corner man and special teams player.  In 2016 he posted 4 tackles and 2 passes defensed.

Amos, Adrian

Card: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2016, Hobby Box Breaker

At Penn State, Adrian Amos hit the field early for the Nittany Lions at safety. He played in 12 games as a backup in 2011, and started all 37 games over his last three years at the school.  He finished with 101 solo tackles and 48 assists, 9 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 5 interceptions for 192 yards and 15 pass deflections.  Amos had impressive pro day demonstrating his athleticism and showcasing ability to run with the big dogs, with 21 reps of 225 pounds, and a 4.37 40.  Adrian also was the top performer at the 20 yard shuttle at 4.03 and the 60 yard shuttle at 11.33.  He’d be selected in the 5th round of the 2015 draft by the Chicago Bears.  He ended up turning heads in camp and starting every game his rookie year, as Adrian finished with 57 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 pass deflections.  He’s been a nice bright spot in an otherwise bad team.

Dunbar, Quinton

Card: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Quinton Dunbar played his college ball at Florida. While with the Gators he had 111 receptions for 1500 yards and 8 TDs.  He didn’t attract much attention in the 2015 draft, Dunbar signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent.  He made it all the way through camp but was released during final cutdowns. The team brought him back immediately and placed him on the practice squad.  The Redskins were thin at cornerback so they brought Quinton up to speed and and dropped him in the lineup.  He got in some playtime near the end of the season, and recorded his first interception in late November.  Dunbar finished his 2015 season with 14 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and an interception.

It appears that the Redskins feel they’ve landed quite an athlete in Dunbar, evidenced by his 2016 performance. In week 3 against the New York Giants, Dunbar intercepted his first pass, and then later caught a 31 yard pass on a fake punt.  He finished the season with a respectable 39 tackles, 10 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions.
