Sabb, Dwayne (2) ‘Big Sabb’

1992 Gameday, #401

CARDS: Skybox Primetime 1992, Topps XFL 2001, Gameday 1992
ACQUIRED: TTM 2022, C/o Home
SENT: 4/11/22 RECEIVED: 4/20/22 (9 days)

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

Topps XFL 2001, #46

NOTES:

I’ve been digging deep into the Topps XFL 2001 set recently, and when I saw that Big Saab was signing TTM all of a sudden, I quickly dropped these cards in the mail to him.

I sometimes send out 5 or 6 requests at a time and I accidentally sent out Big Saab’s envelope without it being prepped. I felt like such an idiot opening up my PO Box and finding the empty envelope inside. Luckily I had only flushed a GameDay 1992 card and had a duplicate on hand to reload with.

1992 Primetime, #204

Robinson, Eddie (LB) (2)

Skybox Primetime, #285

CARDS: Classic 1992, Skybox Primetime 1992
ACQUIRED: TTM 2022, C/o Alabama State
SENT: 4/11 RECEIVED: 5/31 (50 days)

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

Classic 1992, #92

NOTES:

I had gotten Eddie way, way back as a kid through the Houston Oilers, and I also believe at training camp one year. There was still 2-3 cards I still wanted to get signed by him, and I stocked a few years prior thinking I could add him during the Houston Oilers 1993 25th Anniversary party, but I am not sure if he was there.

Eddie has two cases of mistaken identity working against him. One, people think that he’s related to former Grambling HC Eddie Robinson Sr. – He is not. And two, where Eddie went to college and recently got hired as HC is at Alabama State University- not Alabama.

Although the Skybox was not my favorite card, his Oilers uniform looks beautiful on the gray canvas. It seemed to make sense to add this one to the collection alongside his Classic 92.

Sacca, Tony (2)

Gameday 1992, #175

CARDS: Classic 1992, Pro Set 1992, Gameday 1992, Skybox 1992 Primetime
ACQUIRED: TTM 2021, C/o Home
SENT: 11/29/21 RECEIVED: 12/24/21 (25 days)

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

NOTES:

Another set need down as I pretty much cleared out the remaining cards I wanted signed of Tony’s. The Gameday was of particular interest here, however I had no idea that Classic had done these limited print cards.
