Conklin, Tyler

Card: Panini Contenders 2018
Acquired: 2018, Box Breaker

Tyler Conklin played three years for Central Michigan at tight end. Originally a full ride basketball player at Northwood University, Conklin transferred to CMU and walked onto the football team. During his Junior year in 2016 he had 42 catches for 560 yards and 6 touchdowns. His Senior year stats were nearly identical. Playing in 8 games, Tyler had 35 catches for 504 yards and 5 TDs. The Vikings traded up during day 3 of the 2018 NFL Draft to select Tyler with the 157th pick (5th round). Minnesota drafted Tyler with the idea of having him compete for the backup TE position behind Kyle Rudolph.  He’s caught 13 passes for 135 yards so far in his young NFL career, but gets most of his playing time currently on special teams.
