• Jerry had a really solid 9 total seasons with Buffalo there and displayed versatility across the line playing OLB, RDE, and LDE over his career there.
• He never hit double digit sacks again but his presence was solid and consistent, and he tended to show up in big games.
• After the 2021 season, Jerry signed with the Houston Texans.
• While with Houston, he enjoyed sort of a career renaissance, posting 9 sacks, an interception, and 2 forced fumbles, along with 35 total tackles.
• He’d retire from football after the 2024 campaign.

NOTES:

Jerry joined the Texans during the very short Lovie Smith epoch. The signing really made sense for both parties. They took a small chance on a seasoned veteran at DE, and Jerry got to come home of sorts- as he hailed from Sugar Land and played college ball up the street at TCU. I remember the collective groan from social media about the signing, but if there was a bright spot there it was Jerry. He’d get to see the team reborn and rise to division champs twice before ultimately retiring.
