Jeff Gossett led a very long, consistent, and productive NFL career which actually started back in 1980 after he failed to make the roster of the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent. He’d sign with the Chiefs and be their punter from 1981 to 1982, and then become a journeyman playing for the Browns for a season before hopping over to the USFL. Gossett would play for the Chicago Blitz in 1984, and the Portland Breakers in 1985, then back to the Browns later in 1985 to play for the Browns through 1987. He’d punt for the Oilers as well that year and then finally find a permanent home with the Los Angeles Raiders. Jeff would be named to the Pro Bowl (AP as well) in 1991, and play with the Raiders through their transition back to Oakland in 1996 for a total of 140 games with the Silver and Black. A solid punter, Gossett averaged 44.2 yards a punt in 1991, and 43.9 yards in 1994. Only in 2 out of 16 seasons did Jeff average below 40 yards a punt. Well represented in Tecmo Bowl history, he’d make an appearance in both Tecmo SuperBowl and Tecmo SuperBowl Final Edition, and his 982 punts would rank top 20 upon retirement.

Musgrave, Bill

The heir to Chris Miller for the Oregon Ducks, Bill Musgrave enjoyed an excellent college playing career. With a logger jam at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Musgrave would not make the team roster after being drafted by them in 4th round of the 1991 draft. He’d sign with the San Fransisco 49ers and he’d post a 71 quarterback rating throwing 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. He’d stay with the 49ers through 1994 and then sign with the Denver Broncos staying there through the 1996 season. Bill jumped almost immediately into coaching where he has remained since, working a season a piece for the Raiders and Eagles, and two for the Panthers. Musgrave returned back to the college ranks in 2001 tutoring future Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub at UVA. Again he’d surface in the pros with the Jaguars for the next two seasons through 2004 and the Redskins for 2005. Musgrave later spent the most time with the Atlanta Falcons from 2006 – 2010, -later signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2011 to be offensive coordinator. Musgrave experienced his first offensive play calling with the Eagles and Ray Rhodes, so he probably is a member of the Rhodes’ coaching tree.

Wallace, Aaron

Aaron Wallace was part of the Texas A&M “Blitz Brothers” back in the late 80’s with John Roper. Setting a Texas A&M record for career sacks (42), he was selected as a Lombardi semifinalist in 1989. His critical 10 yard sack of Andre Ware set the tempo and preserved a victory over the high scoring Houston Cougar offense. Combining great size (6’3″, 245) and speed, Aaron was a pass rushing force from the outside his rookie season, and he ranked second among rookies with 9 sacks after being drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Raiders. He’d be named to numerous All-Rookie teams after the season and led the team in forced fumbles.

Inexplicably, Al Davis had the team sign Winston Moss and Wallace was relegated to even more backup duty in his next season. Finally allowed to start in 1992  Wallace started 36 games for the Raiders over the next 3 seasons, before he was relegated to backup duty again in 1995. Aaron would retire after 8 seasons with the Raiders in 1998. Since then he’s done some coaching at the high school level and travels to San Diego to watch his son play regularly.
