A solid receiving option in the Ball State offense, Jordan Williams – Lambert was a 2nd team All Mac selection in both his Junior and Senior seasons. Scouts liked his size, but after a poor showing at the combine, Williams-Lambert left them scratching their collective heads. Jordan’s tenuous draft stock fell. Going unselected in 2016, he was picked up by the receiver needy New Orleans Saints. He got some playing time in during the preseason catching 3 passes for 58 yards, including a nice 30 yarder. The Saints liked what they saw out of Jordan and kept him in the family, signing him to their practice squad, and later again for 2017.
Aaron Green played at TCU and while he set the NCAA on fire with 7.1 YPC on 129 carries and earned Second Team All Big 12 in 2014. His numbers increased to 1,272 yards on 244 carries, but because of a bevy or RB talent in the conference, he only received Honorable Mention. Considered undersized at 5’10, 203, scouts were not impressed with Green, and he went undrafted. Aaron signed with the St. Louis Rams after the 2016 NFL draft.
He made the squad in part to his hard running during the preseason. With Todd Gurley resting, Green logged 23 carries for 111 yards and a TD. He also displayed some handiness in the passing game catching 9 receptions for 76 receiving yards and another TD in only 3 preseason games. Aaron was released during final cuts, but quickly assigned to the practice squad.
With a loggerjam at runningback heading into the 2017 season, Aaron was released in May. Currently he’s a free agent.
Darion Griswold passes the eyeball test clocking in at 6’5″, 255 which despite his anemic statistics make him an intriguing prospect. Another one of these basketball to tight end players Griswold is considered a project for many teams. Although he has the frame and hands, Big Griz is not considered a refined run blocker, nor an immediate threat off the line, as he is still perfecting his route trees.
His athletic skills alone have qualified Griswold as a late round selection in the 2016 draft. After the 2016 NFL Draft Darion signed with the Indianapolis Colts. He’d be cut with an undisclosed injury settlement before the preseason began. In 2017 he signed a futures contract with the Atlanta Falcons, but again was cut with an injury settlement before the regular season began.
