A rare signer, I felt it’d be best if I take advantage of his current signing window and get Haywood on a few cards. Among the players, he was quite outspoken about it being a mistake the Oilers left H-Town. I wonder if he also turned and embraced the Titans as one with the Oilers like many of his backpedaling teammates.
Erik Williams played for tiny NAIA Central State, OH.
A small school find by the Cowboys, he was selected in the 3rd round of the 1991 draft.
Did not become starter until 1992, when he dislodged starter Nate Newton from his RT position.
Sat out a good portion of the 1994 season due to a freak car accident that he was injured badly in.
Played for the Cowboys from 1991-2000 and one final season in Baltimore.
ACCOLADES:
Pro Bowl 1993, 1996, 1997, 1999
All Pro 1993, 1995, 1996
Central Ohio Hall of Fame 2010
Fleer 1995, #102
NOTES:
Erik was nicknamed Big E, but for some reason we heard Big Kat a lot. I never got Erik at training camp all those years ago. He just always seemed to skip by me.
Celebrating the game, the players, the cards, and the autographs for over 25 years.
