CAREER SNAPSHOT:

• Robert Meachem played college ball at Tennessee from 2004-’06.
• The WR had 71 catches for 1,298 yards and 11 TDs in his Junior year.
• Declared for the NFL Draft and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round in 2007.
• Blew out his knee before taking the field his rookie year and spent the entire season on IR,
• Helped the team win the Super Bowl in 2009, catching 45 passes for 722 yards and a career high 9 TDs.
• Continued to see the field as a situational starter for the remainder of his career in New Orleans.
• Caught 44 passes for 638 yards and 5 TDs in 2010.
• Then turned in another consistent season with 40 catches for 620 yards and 6 TDs in 2011.
• Played one season in San Diego in 2012, before returning to New Orleans the following year.
• Meachem played through the 2014 season with the Saints.
• After spending a season on the free agent market, he tried out again for the Saints, but blew out his foot.
• He’d later play in the American Arena League for the Richmond Roughriders in 2018.
• Played in the Your Call Football competition in 2019.
• Afterwards he’d go unselected in the 2020 XFL Draft.

Robert has been very active in charitable causes, establishing the Robert Meachem Follow Your Dreams Foundation, and participating in NBCs TV show Minute to Win It.

It strikes me that Robert is always hungry for football. I hope he takes his experiences and uses them towards coaching. He has some great cards. I sent him this great Score 2010 card, but blew it with the Prestige- forgetting I had a Pacific 2009 sitting in the workroom.
