- An All-Big 10 Team two timer at Michigan, Mike was selected in the 5th round of the 1980 draft by the Denver Broncos.
- Making the squad, he’d later transition from FS to CB during the ’83 training camp.

- His 179 interception return yards in 1986, became the single season franchise record.
- Named Broncos’ defensive MVP for 1986 effort.
