Defensive back Greg Eaglin (#26) graces the front of this TV Schedule card featuring the San Antonio Riders versus the Ohio Glory in their 1992 preseason matchup. The return envelope itself appeared to have been run over by a car and then mangled by a dog, but somehow it got back to me. -Regardless of the condition of the card, I am thankful that Greg took the time to sign. As of 2019, Greg resides in the Dallas, Tx area.

Defensive back Greg Eaglin started his college career at Texas, but transferred to University of Arkansas- Pine Bluff.

He was a free agent signee of the Philadelphia Eagles in 1991, but did not make the squad. Greg was selected by the San Antonio Riders of the World League in 1992 as their 28th selection. While with the Riders he intercepted one pass- during the infamous hailstorm game against the Ohio Glory, when a Pat O’Hara pass deflected off of offensive lineman Eric Harmon. He ended the season on the roster of the Frankfurt Galaxy.

Greg joined the CFL in 1993 when he signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He’d finish out the season on the roster of the Calgary Stampeders but was released in July of 1994. Greg resigned with the Ti-Cats, and made an instant impact recording 5 interceptions in perhaps his best season as a pro. He’d sign with the Toronto Argonauts in ’95 and play with them until midway through the 1996 season. He’d then finish his career in the CFL back where he started again- back with the Ti-Cats.

In 1997, Eaglin played one lone season in the Arena leagues for the Iowa Barnstormers as a WR-LB.

Rogers Jr., Glenn

Glenn Rogers played defensive back for Memphis from 1988 through 1990. A speed merchant by trade, Rogers moonlighted on punt returns tallying 23 returns for 178 yards, and at defensive back wrangling in 12 interceptions for 229 yards over 33 games. After not being selected in the 1991 NFL Draft, Glenn was able to latch onto the roster of the Buccaneers for a season, where he appeared in one game.

In 1992, Glenn joined the Orlando Thunder of the World League. He’d record 4 interceptions for 87 yards, and a TD (57 yards) to lead the team, and help pace their defense towards World Bowl II.

Glenn joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL after the World League folded- for the 1993 season. He stepped in as an immediate starter for the Esks over the next 5 seasons- missing just one game. From 1995 to 1997 he was a All-Canadian selection. His best season came in 1996 when Glenn recorded 49 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 7 interceptions for 139 yards. He finished in Edmonton with 24 career interceptions. In 1998, Rogers signed with the British Columbia Lions. While with the Lions he had another outstanding season adding another 6 interceptions to his resume, but was traded to Montreal after the season. Released before the season began, Glenn played one final season in Saskatchewan in 1999 and then retired.

Glenn signed his card and wrote me a small note, thanking me for being a fan and that he was happy there were still some World League fans out there! He currently lives in the Memphis area.

Evans, Shaquelle ‘Shaq’

Shaquelle Evans played for the Bruins of UCLA from 2011 to 2013, and Notre Dame in 2010. In 2012 he had 60 receptions for 877 yards and 3 TDs. He followed that up with 47 receptions for 709 yards and 9 TDs in 2013.  Evans was selected in the 2014 NFL Draft by the New York Jets in the 4th round. He blew out his shoulder before he even finished training camp and spent 2014 on IR. Subsequently in 2015 he’d be waived in final cut downs.

Shaq was quickly snapped up by the Jaguars and spent the next year with the franchise on their practice squad. After a short stint on the Patriots in 2016, he joined the Cowboys in January of 2017, but later was suspended for violating the league’s drug policy.  

In January of 2018, Evans joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL and caught 50 passes for 785 yards in his rookie year with the team. He followed that up with an equally impressive 2019 catching 108 balls for 1334 yards and 5 TDs.
