  • Set 5 NCAA collegiate passing records while quarterbacking for UC Davis while throwing for 7601 yards and 68 TDs in college career.
  • Finalist for Harlon Hill Trophy in 1999.
  • 1999 5th round pick of the Tennessee Titans.
  • Joined NFLE in 2000, playing for the Scottish Claymores leading the franchise to the World Bowl.
  • Set NFLE mark with a 107.3 QB rating.
  • Returned to the NFL but was on and off the rosters of the Titans, Chargers, Falcons, and 49ers through 2001.
  • Resigned with the Titans in 02, and was allocated to the NFLE.
  • Played 2002 with the Amsterdam Admirals.
  • Set NFLE record with 30 career TD passes.
  • Signed with the AFL, playing with the San Jose Sabrecats in 2003, and the Albany Firebirds in 2004.
  • Has seen extensive stints at the college level, enjoying a season in the UFL as the WRs coach of the Omaha Nighthawks in 2011.

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

  • Cory Sauter played quarterback from 1994-1997 for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

  • Took over starting duties in 1995, throwing for 2600 yards, completing out 60.4% of his passes, and 18 TDs.

  • 4 year totals at the school included 6834 total yards, 40 TDs, and a 57% completion average.

  • Signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 1998, and then joined the Lions in 1999.

  • In 2000, Cory played in the NFLE with the Barcelona Dragons.

  • A  traditional drop back passer, he connected on 62.6% of his targets for 6 TDs for the Dragons, but was sacked 18 times on 181 drop backs. 

  • He then spent 2001 to 2003 in between the Colts and Bears, seeing his only statistically captured action in 2002 with the Bears.

  • Since 2006, Cory has been in the coaching ranks in both college (Minnesota and SW Minnesota State), and in Europa with the Hamburg Sea Devils and Berlin Thunder.

Gaylor, Trevor

Another Miami of Ohio product, from over the turn of the century to go along with notables Ben Rothlisberger and Martin Nance, -Trevor Gaylor experienced moderate success in the CFL after being drafted by the San Diego Chargers with their #3 pick of the 2000 draft. Starting 2 games his rookie season and seeing mostly scrub/ back up time, Trevor made 13 receptions for 182 yards and a 62 yard touchdown.  His 2nd year in the league, he’d improve marginally on his numbers with 14 receptions for 212 yards.  Traded to the Falcons in 2002, Gaylor proved to be a nice budget find by Atlanta, making 25 receptions for 385 yards and 3 touchdowns, while starting only 2 games.  He didn’t get any playing time in 2003, and was a surprising release prior to the 2004 season. The enigma about Gaylor was that he could make the tough reception, but dropped the routine pass. Signed by the Lions after tryouts with them and the Bengals, Trevor lost out on one of the final wide receiver spots in camp late that season and was waived.

The Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL made their pitch to Trevor, and he signed with them in 2005.  His rookie season he had 929 yards receiving and 74 receptions, in 18 contests, winning the 93rd Grey Cup. He wound his way into Coach Danny Maciocia’s doghouse the following season, and his numbers would dwindle down to 24 receptions for 382 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his final season in 2007, Trevor recorded 56 receptions for 644 yards and 4 touchdowns.
