Well I thought after training camp and cleaning up at HEB a few years ago in San Antonio I was done with Robert Jones, but then I realized I glaringly missed his Skybox 1992 card; An absolutely glorious card catching him in his college duds. As of 2022, the 1993 Skybox Premium or ‘Colors’ set has become a big draw to me, especially based on how it looks. I just love how these cards are designed. With this I’m probably done with Robert, all though I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed a Classic 92 blister card or something out there I still wanted to get him to sign.
I discovered the 1997 Upper Deck Legends Marquee Matchups subset too late, but I made up for it in spades with a few good ones. Bob was kind enough to adorn the dual signature card in gold paint pen. An absolute killer choice. Great card. Took me a while to get around to it as these have become rarer and rarer. For some reason someone was pricing this card at nearly $20.00- A figure I easily balk at… But with some patience the right price came up on this card and I quickly snagged it.
Since after his playing days, Vinny has been almost a non-signer TTM. Despite some fade and light smudging, I figured that this one was worth it based on what I already had in my collection. This one was pretty much grabbed with a stack of other Bucs to help fill out my Action Packed 1990 set. I absolutely love the photo, and the lighting really catches that creamsickle orange that I am so fond of.
Celebrating the game, the players, the cards, and the autographs for over 25 years.
