Olsen, Ammon

Card: Sage 2016
Acquired:  2016, Box Breaker

Ammon Olsen played for Southern Utah as a Freshman before heading on a Mission.  After he returned he joined BYU, but ultimately returned to Southern Utah in 2014 where he became the Thunderbird’s incumbent starter at quarterback with 3049 yards and 21 TDs completing 63.3% of his passes.  In his Senior year, he had 26 TDs and only 8 interceptions, while passing for 3,344 yards. Olsen has the NFL frame of a quarterback (6’3″, 220) and a strong arm, but went unselected in the 2016 NFL draft. He’d sign as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts, however he was cut before the season began.

Morris, Stephen

Card: Topps Strata 2014
Acquired: 2017, Walmart Box Breaker

Stephen Morris played college ball at Miami (FL).  Over his college career from 2010-2013 he posted 7896 yards and 49 TDs to 30 interceptions. He was not selected in the 2014 NFL Draft, but signed a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. For pretty much the entirety of his career he’s been relegated to the practice squad or 3rd string quarterback and while his body of preseason work has improved over the year, he has never attempted an NFL pass.

After a little over a season in Jacksonville Morris was waived in 2015. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and was added to their practice squad. The Colts claimed him right before Christmas and added Stephen to their active roster. With Andrew Luck ailing Morris stood a decent chance of making the team- and while he had a more impressive preseason than fellow QB Scott Tolzien, Morris was inexplicably cut before the season began.

After a year away from the NFL, Morris was signed and cut by no less than 3 teams during the 2017 off-season including the Redskins and Seahawks. On the same day as this posting, Morris was claimed off of waivers by the Houston Texans.

Jones, Chandler ‘Jet’

Card: Sage 2014
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Jet Jones played at San Jose St. from 2010 to 2013,  A four year starter for the Spartans, he saw his receiving yards and touchdowns increase every year.  His best year came in 2013 when Jet caught 79 passes for 1356 yards and 15 TDs as QB David Fales favorite target.  His final college numbers included 248 receptions for 3087 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Jet was signed by the Browns after the 2013 draft. While he posted an eye popping 4.34 40, his size (5’8″, 185) really worked against him, and Jones had no special teams experience. After being waived, he’d sign with the Colts in 2014 and be on and off the practice squad throughout different points of the season. At the end of the year, he was signed by Tampa Bay and promoted to the active roster in 2015.

Jet joined the Montreal Alouettes in 2015 and spent the year on their practice squad, but was released before the 2016 regular season. In 2017, Jones had returned to his Alma Mater and is currently a defensive assistant at the school.
