gday92 sstacyI had been after Siran Stacy for sometime and I was very happy to add him on these three cards.  After failing on him back in 2011 using an address list, it took some old fashioned connect the dots Googling to finally track down Stacy.  Siran continues to be active in the ministry and so I felt that a donation to his church was appropriate in order to get these three really cool cards signed.

Stacy’s 1989 performance is still remembered fondly by Alabama fans. He rushed for 1,079 yards and had 17 touchdowns, helping propel the Crimson Tide to a share of the SEC title and earn a Sugar Bowl berth.

Josey, Henry

Card: Sage 2014
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Henry Josey is chasing the dream and you have to admire a man like that. After running for 263 yards in one game as a Sophmore for Missou, catching 175 passes, and running for over a thousand yards twice in his career, you’d think a guy’s name with 4.4 speed would be etched on a map somewhere for a professional team, but things didn’t work out that way for Josey.

Going undrafted he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014. While he had a great preseason rushing for the Eagles, averaging 6.6 yards per carry on 225 yards, he was part of the final painful round of cuts.  From there, the Barry Sanders sized running back has been on rosters of the Colts, Jaguars, and the Vikings -just in 2014.

After being cut by the Vikings in 2015, Henry signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.  He rushed for 30 yards, and had 4 receptions in his debut season for the Argos.

With a name like Happy Feller, you might as well be predispositioned to be positive about things.  He joined the Longhorns Hall of Honor in 2014, after being a part of two national championship teams for the University of Texas. While there he set Southwest Conference records for both touchbacks and point after attempts. His 55 yard field goal against UCLA  in his senior year was a school record at the time as well.

utud11 feller 6970Feller went on to play in the NFL for 3 seasons.  A 4th round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles, he’d beat out Mark Moseley in training camp to secure the kicking job.

The Eagles were perennial losers at the time. Head coach Jerry Williams was fired and replaced by interim coach Ed Khayat. Khayat brought New Orleans placekicker Tom Dempsey in and put him on the taxi squad. With an accomplished kicker like Dempsey breathing down his neck, Feller began to question his ability. His game ultimately suffered.  Happy played in 1972 and 1973 for the New Orleans Saints, but a quadriceps injury slowed him down.

After football,  Happy founded TeleDynamics, which specializes in wholesale electronics. He signed these 2 cards for me in a very short 4 days. On the letter he wrote next to my salutation, “My pleasure!” It’s always great when you can tell that a player really is just as happy and excited to sign for you as you are.
