Cooper, Xavier ‘X’ (DT)

Card: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Xavier ‘X’ Cooper played from 2012-2014 for the Washington State Huskies. He finished his 3 year career with 122 total tackles, 32.5 for loss, 13 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.  X improved his draft stock by leading all defensive linement with a 4.86 40.  He’d be taken in the 3rd round of the 2015 NFL Draft by Cleveland. Since that time Cooper has provided rotational depth on the Browns defense posting 39 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks over the past two seasons.

Like with many Sage 2015, I liked the portraiture of the set, but was disappointed ultimately by how the black obscured the autograph. It doesn’t really matter on this one as Cooper has a very pedestrian looking autograph.

Mannion, Sean

Card: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2016, Box Breaker

Sean Mannion was a prolific passer for the Oregon State Beavers from 2011 to 2014. Holding many of the Beavers and Pac-12 passing records, Sean finished with 13,600 yards on 1,187 completions of 1,838 attempts, and 83 touchdowns. He was selected in the 3rd round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the then St. Louis Rams. Since that time he’s spent the entirety of his career as a backup. He’s seen spot duty here and there behind first Case Keenum and Nick Foles, and then in 2017 as the primary backup behind Keenum and Jared Goff.  He got to start his first game in 2017, the season finale- a 34-13 loss to the 49ers. While the Rams notched a loss, Mannion did his best throwing for 169 yards on 20 completions and no interceptions.

Brown, Dominique

sage15 DBrown
Card: Sage 2015
Acquired: 2015, Box Breaker

Dominique Brown played for the Louisville Cardinals. A short yardage back for the Cardinals, Dominique clicked in at 6’2″, 235 and reminded scouts of Toby Gerhart.   Frequently injured, Brown finished his Louisville career with 1,736 yards and 16 TDs on 399 carries (4.35 YPC), adding 47 receptions. Brown had a solid East-West Shrine performance, but then ran a flat 4.63/4.65 at his Pro Day with a brutal 9-foot-1 broad jump.  He was projected to go late in the 2015 draft, as scouts had questions about his dedication and work ethic.  He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent and later finished the season on the roster of the Pittsburgh Steelers rushing 18 times for 39 yards in 3 games. Currently Dominique is a free agent/ retired.
