Adams, Jonathan

CARD: Upper Deck UFL 2024, Upper Deck UFL 2024 Printing Plate, Upper Deck USFL 2023
ACQUIRED: IP 2025, San Antonio Brahmas v Memphis Showboats,
Epack 2025

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

  • Jonathan Adams played WR from 2017-’20 for Arkansas State.
  • During his time at the school, his catches, yards, and TDs grew exponentially every season.
  • In his senior season with the Red Wolves, he compiled 79 receptions for 1,111 yards and 12 TDs.
  • Had an impressive camp with the Lions after going undrafted in 2021, but would be later cut before camp concluded.
  • Selected by the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL in 2022.
  • Hauled in 31 passes for 406 yards and 3 TDs that season.
  • In 2023, Jonathan caught 41 passes for 511 yards and 2 TDs.
  • When the USFL and XFL merged, the Breakers were not retained.
  • Adams was selected during the 2024 dispersal draft by the Memphis Showboats.
  • Continued to showcase his abilities catching 33 passes for 441 yards and a TD in 2024, and 30 passes for 407 yards and 2 TD in 2025.

NOTES:

Jonathan Adams was the prize I was after from the Memphis game since Darius Victor was no longer on the squad. He had a really nice Breakers card from the USFL set I wanted. (Random note- but apparently the Breakers gear still sells quite well despite the franchise going on hiatus during the merger.) Adams is overshadowed by other talent in the UFL, but continues to be a consistent and solid performer, despite the QB and offensive issues in Memphis.

I was really happy to get Jonathan’s autograph on a printer’s plate, although he’s so lanky and large in this photo, he looks like a linebacker instead.

Wing, Brad (2) ’45 Seconds’

CARD: Upper Deck UFL 2024, Upper Deck Game Day Moments 2024, Upper Deck UFL 2024 Parallel, Upper Deck UFL 2024 Printer’s Plate (Yellow)
ACQUIRED: 2025, Epack
IP 2025, San Antonio Brahmas v Memphis Showboats
Trade 2025

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

NOTES:

I pulled this really nice dual autographed card of Brad from an Epack, when I was opening 7 or so of them online. It was a nice find considering I’m a Brahmas fan. Sometimes simple works, and in the case of this set, I’m okay with it. I probably would’ve just had the logo without the name, but I’m okay with this one. Of all the punters in the league, Upper Deck was wise to put the two most popular on a card together.

Brad before the Memphis game came up and signed a few cards for me and Jake. He knocked off the Upper Deck GDM card of him throwing a TD to Alex Mollette, as well as his blue parallel from the base set. Brad signed quite a few cards, and I was able to give one to my friend Joe. Later after the game Jake made me a good offer and traded me the yellow plate.

Since he signed all my cards, I’ve made a few jokes with Brad as he comes through the tunnel. I like to call him ’45-Second Brad’ after he said he believed he could ride a bucking bronco for 45 seconds.

Scott, Delontae (2)

CARD: Upper Deck UFL 2024
ACQUIRED: Trade, 2025. Redemption, 2025

CAREER SNAPSHOT:

  • See also Delontae Scott
  • The Brahmas for some odd reason didn’t resign Delontae for the 2025 campaign.
  • He’d sign a game or two into the season with the Birmingham Stallions.

NOTES:

I’ve been deriding the Upper Deck Epack system for sometime, but my largest and almost singular complaint is the cost- especially considering the cost of an Epack is more than a physical card pack and has less or the same amount of cards. Then there’s the added cost of ordering the physical cards… and the wait.

That being said I found something totally fun about it: Trading. I just wish that the community was more active. I’ve been actively after putting together a set to upgrade it to a parallel autograph, slowly whittling it down to the final 10 or so. As I’ve done so, I’ve discovered so many zombie accounts. I’ll put out a fair trade and just sit there and wait… and wait… and wait… and get no response.

I got a few horse trades down with another collector, and so he just threw this one out there for 10 cards. Knowing I am a Brahmas fan and the fact I hadn’t pulled this one yet intrigued me. All of the cards were digital and none really impacted my bottom line, so I went for the deal and scratched Delontae off the list without even going to a game.

Later I figured out I could redeem a set of white cards for an actual printing plate. Silly me, I could’ve done it twice over but I kept ordering the physical cards out. Anyway, lesson learned. With my second redemption pull I was able to get a magenta printer’s plate of Delontae. I was ecstatic.
