The last time I got Warren, he quickly stopped signing again before I could clear out a few more of my set needs and cards I liked- and he appears in all the great sets of the era I collected. I definitely decided to double dipped on this one.
I was pretty disappointed recently to hear that Warren decided to change his tune and is now fully selling the HOUSTON Oilers as part of the Tennessee Titans history. This coincided with the franchise’s late attempt to fully integrate Oilers history into Tennessee, as Houston fans were clamoring again about bringing the derrick and history home. Then the Tacks decided to have a homecoming game where they flew out all the players to Tennessee. Pretty good PR move on their part.
He used to be one of my favorite players, but I saw this as an absolute betrayal. It was odd because he was even quoted as saying that he never played for this fan base or in Tennessee but here he was being inducted into their Ring of Honor.

NOTES:
I remember Jerry being one of the few players at the time that I had cards of for the Glory/ Riders preseason game. The dents on the corners of the Score Supplemental bear the scars of both the preseason game and the infamous Hail Storm Game. I never got Jerry, and put this card away for many years.
Later, when I was coming back to the hobby I put this card aside. I love the Score card, as it not only shows a great action shot of Jerry in a single bar face mask, which was quickly becoming a rarity back then, but also the dirt of Municipal Stadium. Great card.
Paved the way in 1992 for Mike Pringle at RB, while catching 22 passes.
Played for the Arena Football League in 1993 and 94 (Detroit Drive/Massachusetts Marauders.
Then joined the CFL Sacramento Gold Miners during the 94 season.
When the franchise moved to San Antonio and became the Texans- Tony came along too.
Rushed for 304 yards (60 carries) and caught 30 passes for 291 yards.
Played the next three seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos.
Had a career high 59 yard gallop in 95, and a career high 11 rushing TDs in 96.
Split time the next three years, literally playing football fulltime between the Arena Football League and the CFL.
Joined the Arena Buffalo Destroyers franchise in the Spring of ’99, while playing for the Toronto Argonauts in the Fall.
Had a career high 431 yards rushing for the Argos that year.
Retired after the 2001 season.
NOTES:
Tony had a long and illustrious tapestry of different football leagues woven into the fabric of his career. I had been looking for him for a very long time but after retracing my steps I was finally able to locate him and add him on his Wild Card ’92 entry.
