CAREER SNAPSHOT:
- John Tice played TE at Maryland from 1979-’82.
- He had 83 receptions for 949 yards and 7 TDs over his collegiate career.
- 3rd round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 1983.
- Shared TE duties with Hoby Brenner and was a solid blocker upfront.
- A reliable set of hands near the endzone, John caught nearly 10% of his passes for TDs over his career.
- Caught 37 passes for 330 yards and 3 TDs in ’86.
- Only caught 16 passes in ’87- but 6 went for TDs.
- Played for the Saints through 1992.
- Joined the Vikings as an offensive assistant in 1999.
- Transitioned to TE coach, a position he held from 2000-’05.
- Served as the OL coach for the Army Black Knights from ’07-’08.
