One of the original great RBs to come out of Auburn, playing for school from 1977-80.
Posted an incredible 7.4 yards per carry in 1979.
Ran for 1208 yards in 79 and 1314 in 80.
First round pick of the San Diego Chargers in 1981.
Demonstrated ability early on, catching 46 passes out of the backfield his rookie season.
Led NFL in first two seasons with 2093 total yards (81), and 1383 (82), and an impressive 1475 (83).
Disgruntled with San Diego, was traded in Spring of 84 to the Cincinnati Bengals for RB Pete Johnson.
By 85 was widely regarded as one of the most lopsided trades in Bengals history.
Rushed for 6447 yards and 37 TDs, and caught 297 passes for 3012 yards and 27 TDs with Bengals 8 seasons.
Played final year split between the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1992.
ACCOLADES:
Pro Bowl 1986, 88-90
NOTES:
James Brooks was very identifiable by those oversized pads he wore and his tucked in sleeves. Great dual threat player who just pummeled the Houston Oilers.
I was a bit underwhelmed by James’ autograph, so much so I am not sure if they are legit, but I was happy to add them to my collection for only a small fee.
Played for Auburn from 1983-86, rushing for 2789 career yards.
Had improbable Senior campaign rushing for 1391 yards on 167 carries (8.3 YPC) and 10 TDs.
Drafted by the Packers in 1987 with the 6th overall pick by the Green Bay Packers.
A hardnosed runner- ran for 5 TDs in rookie year on 54 carries but was sidelined by a variety of minor nicks and tears in 87.
During 88 season led the team in rushing (483 yards), kickoff returns, and scoring (8 TD) in just 14 games.
Rushed for a career high 821 yards in 1989 and 5 TDs while hauling in 19 catches.
Comically was caught playing hooky in October 1990 and dealt to the Browns.
Did spot return duty for the Browns over final season in league.
ACCOLADES:
Pro Bowl 1990
NOTES:
Brent was part of an absolutely loaded backfield at Auburn (Bo Jackson and Tommie Agee) that all saw time in the NFL. He finished 6th in Heisman Trophy voting in 86. Amazingly that was second on the team behind Bo Jackson who won the award.

NOTES:
Keith sneakily got into some fine sets for his 1989 contributions. He was kind enough to personalize three for me. I especially like the Action Packed and the Pro Set cards. -Great profile cards. Keith is the brother of 49ers WR John Taylor.
