With great size (6’6″) and a good arm, Jonathan Quinn led Middle Tennessee State after transferring from Tulane.
Showed dramatic improvement in his Senior campaign in ’97, throwing for 2,209 yards and 17 TDs, catching the eye of pro scouts.
He was selected in the 3rd round of the ’98 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quinn- at the time was the highest drafted QB in Jaguars history.
Saw sparing playing time his rookie year as the heir apparent to incumbent, Mark Brunell.
Guided the team to victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in only his second start in 1998.
Quinn was shipped to the NFLE for seasoning in 2001.
He played for the Berlin Thunder, throwing 4 TDs in a 34-25 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy.
Then Quinn won World Bowl IX throwing for 308 yards and 3 TDs in a win over the Barcelona Dragons.
He’d join the Chiefs in 2002, returning for the 2003 season.
2004 saw Quinn move to Chicago for a single year.
He’d throw for 413 yards and a TD in 3 starts.
Then Jonathan made a short foray into the Arena Football League signing with the Kansas City Brigade in 2006.
He’d retire shortly thereafter due to lingering injuries.
Quinn has gone into coaching, working at the Division I and high school levels.

Pretty pleased with myself on this one. Lots of things I liked about this one. First is that I just don’t get very many Jaguars’ autographs. Second was that Quinn played in the NFLE for the Berlin Thunder. Third was that he was World Bowl IX MVP.
A great autograph here from Jonathan. I really like the Pacific ’02 card, but something that really bugs me about the photo is the tangent on his facemask near his mouth. I can’t tell if I’m looking at his mouth, a shadow, or his mouth piece. It’s distracting because it reads as a second mouth.
Well I went all out with a paid signing and got Percy Snow, who is a total no show in the TTM market. Many of these were set needs, and Percy had quite a nice selection of cards during his short playing career.
The promoter happened to be a member of our Facebook TTM group and after promoting and helping some other members nab a few of Percy’s autographs, I went ahead and bought a few more as at the time like many people working from home during the pandemic, I was flush with the extra money.
I really liked the Pro Set 1990 Lombardi Award Winner card. The gold frame above the green, coupled with solid, clean photography. All the other cards are amazingly all set needs, as these all exploded for me during the pandemic.
Had respectable college years from 2004-06, but burst onto the scene with titanic 07 effort rushing for 2127 yards and 23 TDs on 361 carries playing for Tulane.
First round selection of the Chicago Bears in 2008, almost immediately became a Fantasy Football darling for the next 7 additional seasons.
Rushed for 1238 yards and 8 TDs in rookie year, while catching 63 passes for 477 yards and 4 TDs.
In every year with Bears, never failed to have less than 1250 yards from scrimmage.
Rushed for over 1000 yards 5 times, while narrowly missing the mark two more additional times.
Best season came arguably in 2013, rushing for 1339 yards and 9 TDs on 289 carries, while also catching 74 passes for 594 yards.
Caught a career high 101 passes for 808 yards during following season in 2014.
Signed with Jets in 2016, and still managed to post 1076 total yards from scrimmage (813 rushing, 263 receiving).
Retired after the 2017 season and signed a one day contract in 2018 to retire a Bear.

Well as COVID began to break out across the country and people started losing jobs EBay started lighting up with great values and snipes I could have for pennies. This was probably the best steal I got. Crazy how long ago it all seems.
I remember my company (at the time) telling us that we were going to work from home the next two weeks. We all sort of took it in stride because it was during Spring Break, so it felt good to get out of the office and WFH.
I was keeping a lid on it though. I got out early and went and got my kid from daycare and informed them we wouldn’t be back until this cleared up… maybe… 3 months or so right? We rushed all over town stopping at multiple stores. Things were getting cleared out but I was piecemealing it together so we could bunk down for 2 weeks.
Then the weeks and months went by. COVID didn’t get better. It got worse. At first we were really fine with it. We saved a ton of money and financially I got myself into a better place, but as time drug on, eventually things got back to a new normal- in its own, strange way.
