Fairytale story continued as he contributed to the Sooners National Football championship that year, catching 5 passes for 96 yards and 2 TDs.

Contributed career best 6 catches for 132 yards and a TD in win over Eagles during Week 3.
Among final tough cuts during 1988 training camp.

NOTES:
I had been hunting for Lee Morris for quite some time- striking out at 3 different addresses over the years. From time to time I like to look at EBay. It’s a backdoor way to see who is signing TTM sometimes, and this one paid off. I found a listing on the site for Lee’s autograph on his Ultimate base card. Then I cross referenced the information I had on him and realized he signed from a previous address I had tried him at a few years ago. It made me quite ecstatic when I got these back. These cards are technically the first responses of 2022.
These are some great action shots of Lee. I remember leaving a game or two, and seeing kids chase Lee for his autograph on his Ultimate promo card that were inserted into the Gametime magazines. (I was quite jealous as I couldn’t find one.) He seemed quite happy that he had a card.
Later the base card appeared in all its glory. I love this shot of him jumping up in the air to make a grab, however it showcases the Riders and the league’s lackluster attendance woes.
I tossed in the Defensive Overview card as well, and since it had a receiver in the picture, it made sense to have Lee sign it. Oddly the back image has Surge helmets on it, but I’d assume it’s not an error card as the set itself is meant to introduce fans to football.
Card: Pro Set 1992 Acquired: TTM 2021, C/o Home Sent: 8/4 Received: 8/23 (19 days)
Played QB at USC seeing backup duty in 1967-68 throwing for 108 yards and a TD.
Selected by the St Louis Cardinals in the 8th round of the 1969 NFL Draft and later saw time in the camp of the New York Jets.
Went into coaching in 1971, reaching the college ranks in 1981 at San Fransisco State as a QB coach and OC.
Quickly moved to BYU in 1982 as QB Coach tutoring Steve Young.
Worked with the 49ers from 1986-89 under Bill Walsh, as a QB Coach and later as an OC, tutoring both Joe Montana and Steve Young.
Won two Super Bowls during that period in ’89 and ’91.
Offense was ranked #1 in 1989 and the ’91 team’s 55-10 shellacking of the Broncos in Super Bowl XXIV remains the highest points scored by one team.
Joined the Packers in 1992, rebuilding storied franchise into perennial powerhouse, molding future HOFer Brett Favre.
Appeared in two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XXXI over the New England Patriots.
Signed on as head coach and GM of the Seahawks in 1998 coaching Matt Hasselbeck, making an additional Super Bowl appearance (XL).
Resigned after the 2008 season.
Spent 2009 to 2012 as GM of the Cleveland Browns.
ACCOLADES:
Seahawks Ring of Honor 2021
Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame
WA Sports Hall of Fame
NOTES:
Mike Holmgren didn’t sign for a while, even skipping out on signing this rookie card from what I understand, even when he did sign. He started back up again, and I couldn’t help but ask him to toss in a play as well. I was very happy to get him on both of these items.
He’s been denied the HOF for some reason a few times. I think he’s due to be inducted with a solid resume, and an incredibly heavy coaching tree branching off of him that includes a lot of current names such as Andy Reid.
QB saw action from 2005-08 for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Had incredible record setting season in 2007 throwing for 5,705 yards and 48 TDs on 512 of 713 passing.
Finished college career with 1403 completions, 2011 attempts, 15,793 yards, 134 TDs, and just 34 interceptions.
Wasn’t selected coming out of the 2009 NFL draft.
Attended rookie camp with the Browns, and later flirted with the UFL.
Ultimately signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL in 2009.
Joined Packers in 2010, and saw little playing time behind Aaron Rodgers.
Signed and released by Jets in 2013 before regular season.
After successful stints working up college ranks, saw most success at UNT and then later was an OC for the USC Trojans.
ACCOLADES:
2007 Sammy Baugh Trophy
2008 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award
2008 AT&T All-America Player of the Year
NOTES:
It’s only a matter of time before Graham is inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as he holds multiple college records. Since 2009 contains quite a few sets I like, I decided to knock him out on these two cards.
Celebrating the game, the players, the cards, and the autographs for over 25 years.
