He routinely was making impressive solo stops, covering RBs sneaking out of the backfield or behind the line of scrimmage.
Powered up even more in the ’23 playoffs and had 8 tackles, a sack, a pass deflection, and an interception he returned 36 yards for a TD against Cleveland.
Against the Ravens in the Divisional Round, Harris harassed QB Lamar Jackson, before an injury slowed him down- and ultimately doomed the Texans chances of winning.
NOTES:
During the Texans playoff romp against Cleveland, Harris picked off QB Joe Flacco and returned the pass for a TD. I immediately went out to the EBay and picked up his Prestige 22. Apparently someone else felt the same way and bought the cheapest copy of his Contenders card out from under me, so I paid a buck or two more for this one.
Pretty satisfied with the cards. The Prestige is a really nice looking parallel. The Contenders card is a bit too dressed up. It just doesn’t have enough real estate for the player picture, but the empty space comes in at the last second and rescues it from being too busy.
Barrett Ruud played LB for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 2001-2004.
He posted 432 total tackles, a pick, and 7 forced fumbles over college career.
Selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Finally broke into the starting lineup full time in 2007.
Had 4 straight seasons of 100+ tackles from 2007-2010.
Best season came in 2009, with 142 total tackles, 1 forced fumble and 7 pass deflections.
Signed with the Titans in 2011, but finished season on IR after 9 games.
In 2012, signed with the Seahawks, but was later traded to Saints.
After Saints cut Barrett, he found a home on the Texans who were desperately thin at LB.
As a depth move, Ruud came off the bench for 16 tackles, a sack and 2 pass deflections.
Retired after the 2012 season, Ruud coached LBs with the Huskers from 2018-2022.
