I had been wanting to get a few more Jaguars’ players autographs, and with very few of them who signed I thought I’d loop back and get Keenan, since I’d never gotten him TTM. Since I met him way back in 2012 or 2013 at Houston Fan Fest, I had developed a passing interest in Atomic and Playoff Contenders sets. The die cut gimmick with the large logo really got me, and the autographs look great on it so, it’s slowly become my 2001 favorite.
The Unknown Commodity card from Upper Deck was selected because it’s very much a card that emulated the zeitgeist of the era. Over the top large lettering as the background with an image on top of it. I mean, it’s not bad. Certainly catches the eye, but at the same time, feels dated and makes you smirk a bit.
McCardell has been enjoying a surge through the coaching ranks. After a stop at Maryland as the WR coach, as of 2022 he’s with the Minnesota Vikings in the same capacity.
With great size (6’6″) and a good arm, Jonathan Quinn led Middle Tennessee State after transferring from Tulane.
Showed dramatic improvement in his Senior campaign in ’97, throwing for 2,209 yards and 17 TDs, catching the eye of pro scouts.
He was selected in the 3rd round of the ’98 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quinn- at the time was the highest drafted QB in Jaguars history.
Saw sparing playing time his rookie year as the heir apparent to incumbent, Mark Brunell.
Guided the team to victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in only his second start in 1998.
Quinn was shipped to the NFLE for seasoning in 2001.
He played for the Berlin Thunder, throwing 4 TDs in a 34-25 victory over the Frankfurt Galaxy.
Then Quinn won World Bowl IX throwing for 308 yards and 3 TDs in a win over the Barcelona Dragons.
He’d join the Chiefs in 2002, returning for the 2003 season.
2004 saw Quinn move to Chicago for a single year.
He’d throw for 413 yards and a TD in 3 starts.
Then Jonathan made a short foray into the Arena Football League signing with the Kansas City Brigade in 2006.
He’d retire shortly thereafter due to lingering injuries.
Quinn has gone into coaching, working at the Division I and high school levels.

Pretty pleased with myself on this one. Lots of things I liked about this one. First is that I just don’t get very many Jaguars’ autographs. Second was that Quinn played in the NFLE for the Berlin Thunder. Third was that he was World Bowl IX MVP.
A great autograph here from Jonathan. I really like the Pacific ’02 card, but something that really bugs me about the photo is the tangent on his facemask near his mouth. I can’t tell if I’m looking at his mouth, a shadow, or his mouth piece. It’s distracting because it reads as a second mouth.
4 year starter at Oklahoma from 2009-12 who was heir to Sam Bradford at quarterback.
Completed 405 of 617 passes for 4718 yards and 38 TDs in Sophomore campaign.
Finished college career with 123 passing TDs, 63.6 completion percentage, and 16646 yards passing.
4th round selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers who intended to groom Jones to become long term backup or future starter to replace Ben Rothlisberger.
Didn’t see any significant action until the 2015 season as quarterback injuries wracked the Steelers.
In first game led Pittsburgh to comeback victory over Cardinals throwing for 165 yards and two TDs.
Saw sporadic playing time over the next 2 seasons putting together some solid numbers.
Cut in early September of 2018 after losing out on a quarterback competition against Mason Rudolph,
Joined the Jaguars later that year as an injury replacement for Blake Bortles.
After a short stint with the Raiders in early 2019, was courted by the AAF, and the San Antonio Commanders– but declined their offer.
Later was reunited with his former college coach Bob Stoops who signed him to play for the Dallas Renegades of the XFL.

NOTES:
After I saw a few successes from Landry online through Facebook groups, with users who refused to disclose his address- I figured out the address myself and sent it out. I broke a cardinal rule and shared the address with a few friends before I got mine back. Thus they got theirs back signed and I got back… nothing. In the meantime, I got his certified off of Ebay, and waited about a year to resend to which I was able to get him on the three non-certified cards above.
Landry is named after former Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry. In a game that I was attending in Dallas, Houston Roughnecks defensive back Charles James (after the Roughnecks intercepted Landry Jones for the 3rd time in the first half) was caught on a live mic saying, “Get him the f*ck out of here!”
