Sapolu, Saute

Card: Ultimate World League 1992
Acquired: TTM 2019, C/o Home
Sent: 10/21 Received: 11/8 (18 days)

While working on an art degree, Saute Sapolu decided to pick up football at Arizona State. The Samoan was a formidable defensive lineman, recording 90 solo tackles (142 total) during his 4 years at the school, including a Senior campaign where he had 61 tackles and 4 sacks.

Saute saw time briefly with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1989 as a free agent signee. He joined the WLAF for the 1991 season and had 2 sacks and 22 total tackles for the Sacramento Surge.

After a little bit of effort I was able to locate Saute in Hawaii where he signed this card in a little over 15 days. He currently manages an art studio (FALE O LE FEE).

Sharp, Hunter

Card: Sage 2016
Acquired: 2017, Box Breaker

Hunter Sharp played wide receiver for Utah State from 2014-2015.  He posted some solid numbers playing for the Aggies, catching 66 passes for 939 yards (7 TDs) in 2014, and 71 receptions for 835 yards (9 TDS) in 2015.

Sharp was not selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, but signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. Later in the year he joined the practice squad of the Denver Broncos- a team he’d be on and off the roster throughout much of 2017.  The Giants picked Hunter off the Broncos roster in December of 2017, where he’d finish the season with 5 receptions for 54 yards and a TD. Unable to make the cut with the Giants in 2018, Hunter subsequently joined the Bills, and the Bengals. He’d be selected by the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL in 2020 during the supplemental portion of the draft- but was injured in camp.

Husar, Mike

Card: Ultimate World League 1992
Acquired: TTM 2019, C/o Home
Sent: 11/18 Received: 11/25 (7 days)

A 4 year starter up front blocking for the Michigan Wolverines, Mike Husar, was named to the All Big 10 team and was an Honorable Mention All-American in his Senior campaign. He was not selected in the 1990 NFL Draft, however he was in camp with the Eagles that year.

Mike was selected by the New York-New Jersey Knights of the World League of American Football during their 1991 draft with their 5th offensive line pick. He’d play with the team through the 1991 season, and join the Bears in training camp that year but not make the squad. Mike returned to the Knights and played for the 1992 squad.

This card is an error card because as it was printed in 1992, Mike had already played for the Knights for a season so he was not a rookie. As this card was never corrected and has little demand on the market, its base value has not been affected.

Mike signed this card in a short 7 days. He lives in Michigan.
