  • Anthony Morgan played college ball at Tennessee from 1988-90.
  • Dangerous WR and return man, had 35 receptions for 546 yards and 3 TDs, and 37 kick returns for 862 yards over college career.
  • Selected in the 5th round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.
  • Bears used Morgan primarily as a receiver over his time with the franchise.
  • In both ’91 and ’92, he caught two 80+ yard TD receptions.
  • Anointed a starter for the ’93 season, Morgan oddly found himself the odd man out by August.
  • He’d be a mid season replacement by the Packers, and spend the next few years, on and off the franchise roster.
  • Still Anthony managed to hang on for a Super Bowl victory with the Packers.
  • In both ’94 and ’95 while in Green Bay, he caught 4 TDs in each season, and posted at least 40 receptions.
  • Cut by the Packers in ’96,he’d retire soon thereafter.

NOTES:

A special shout out to Chris for tracking this one down who had flown under the radar for some time. He signed these two nice cards for me, as another member of the Action Packed 1991 Rookies set is down. I like his autograph. It’s very linear, but the loops give it a great accent.

NOTES:

Yeah so I had a lot more set needs I needed to corral when it came to Mike Tomczak. -Three of them are represented here. He was kind enough to inscribe them as well. Basically this should close the book on any further need to get Mike TTM further.

Krieg, Dave (2)

Fleer 1990, #269

CARDS: ProSet 1990, ProSet 1989, Fleer 1990
ACQUIRED: TTM 2020, C/o Home
SENT: 3/16 RECEIVED: 5/20/22 (776 days)

NOTES:

Before I had cooked up my plan to get a Dave Krieg autograph out of the really jaded collector mentioned in my previous Krieg post, I had sent to him and was dismayed to miss out on a response. Surprisingly he began to drop correspondence in the mail around 2 months before I got this success- after a bit over a 2 year wait.

Note: The Fleer 1990 is an uncorrected error card. Krieg’s name is mistakenly spelled ‘Kreig’ on the front of the card. As it was uncorrected and in high circulation, it’s worthless.
