Tani Tupou played college ball for the Washington Huskies from 2010 to 2015 at defensive tackle. He recorded 59 career tackles and was not selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Seahawks liked what they saw out of Tupou during mini camp and invited him back. He made the roster and saw action briefly during the season opener but didn’t record any stats, and be released about a month later. In 2017, he successfully transitioned from the Spring League back to the NFL signing with the Atlanta Falcons. Tupou would be on and off the roster through the season and into early 2018.
After a brief stint with the Arizona Cardinals, Tani signed with the Alliance of American Football. He’d be assigned to the San Diego Fleet for the 2019 season, and recorded 13 tackles, 4 QB hits and a sack in the Fleet’s 3-4 alignment. In April of that year, the AAF folded, so he played for the XFL with the Seattle Dragons in 2020, and then later for the Jousters of the Spring League, during their showcase in San Antonio.
In 2021, Tani made the transition to play for the Colorado XO’s of the World Rugby League and is considered one of the top prospects.
Terry Wooden played LB for the Syracuse Orangemen. He was a second round pick of the Seattle Seahawks, who were reloading on defense and spent their first 3 picks on defense during the 1990 draft. Terry got off to a fast start but was injured after 8 contests, finishing with 39 tackles. In his first full season with the franchise in 91, Terry posted 105 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4 fumble recoveries in 15 starts. His best season came in 1994, when Terry had 127 total tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 3 interceptions for 78 yards, including a 69 yard TD. After the 1996 season, Terry joined the Chiefs in 1997 for a year and the Raiders for one season in 1998.
As of 2021, Terry is one of the many upcoming talented scouts in the NFL and works in the front office of the New Orleans Saints. He is a notorious non-signer, so I figured I might as well get this one off of Ebay.
Among the remainder of any cards out there that I needed of Steve, this was probably it. A set need, I really enjoyed the Upper Deck Legends 1997 set. This is a great photo of Steve, on a simple yet well designed canvas. After his political career fizzled out, Largent moved back to Oklahoma where he serves on the board at Tulsa. He rarely has signed through the mail since 2017 really and this didn’t set me back at all to acquire this certified on card autograph.
As the Seahawks have recently discovered their legacy, Steve has seen a renaissance of sorts in popularity- with current Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf even sporting his jersey in 2019, calling Steve, “The GOAT.” Steve himself is a big DK Metcalf fan and believes that he has a great career in front of him. In 2020, Metcalf shattered Largent’s single season receiving yardage record- to which Steve called DK up and congratulated him. Steve is pretty much retired and lives in Tulsa full-time and speaks to his former QB Jim Zorn on a weekly basis.
Celebrating the game, the players, the cards, and the autographs for over 25 years.
