CAREER SNAPSHOT:

  • Travis McNeal played Tight End at the University of Tennessee, Chatanooga.
  • He was selected in the 4th round of the epic 1989 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Started 5 of the last 6 games of his rookie campaign, and his 48 yard reception was the longest by a TE in franchise history (since surpassed).
  • In 1991 caught his first TD pass, in a win over the New York Jets.
  • Caught a career high 17 passes that season.
  • Signed with the Rams in 1992 and used primarily as a blocking TE.
  • Retired after the 1993 season.

Travis makes an appearance as a member of the Seattle Seahawks on Tecmo Super Bowl.

  • Homegrown John Schlecht played DT at Minnesota.
  • In his senior season (2000) he posted 10 sacks and 48 total tackles.
  • An impressive specimen, he posted a 450 pound bench press and a 32 inch vertical leap, and saw action in the Senior Bowl.
  • He was not selected in the 2001 NFL Draft.
  • Played for the San Fransisco 49ers seeing action in 8 contests posting 1 TFL.
  • Hopped over to the NFLE where John played for the Frankfurt Galaxy from 2003-’04.
  • After the 2004 season, saw preseason action with the Seattle Seahawks notching 3.5 tackles.
  • After a career ending injury with the Saints, John decided to follow his passion into the world of Strength and Performance.

Okay! I knew that John L Williams was a slow signer so I just put these out there and wasn’t completely surprised to see them back in a year. A few more of my friends had gotten theirs recently- even waiting so long as 3-4 years to get theirs, so mine seemed like only a smallish accomplishment.

So this is a great case study in design watching the evolution of the Action Packed set from 1990 to 1992. It’s interesting how it goes from a framed border, to a floating 3/4 border, to a border just on one side. The photos are great, but really showcased here is how by ’92, the photos were consistently about as close as you see here in this Action shot of John L. In a nice touch of subtleness, the red stripe indicates the AFC conference, while the blue indicates the NFC.
