Terry Poole played OT for San Diego State from 2011-2014.
Selected in the 4th round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and was with the team through 2016.
Spent 2017 with the Dolphins and Texans.
In mid 2018, he became one of the early signings of the AAF, joining the San Diego Fleet, playing for the team through 2019 before it ceased operations.
Poole was selected by the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL in 2020.
NOTES:
As I was a season ticket holder, I had tried a few times to get Terry’s autograph throughout the XFL season since he had an AAF card, but didn’t ever run into him at preseason activities or exiting after game. With a bit of diligence I was able to track him down via the mail and he responded with a nice note thanking me for being a fan of both leagues (AAF & XFL).
After AAF folded, Carl was selected by the XFL Houston Roughnecks during the open phase of the league draft.
In 5 games, Carl posted 5 combined tackles, 2 sacks, 2 quarterback hits, and one tackle for loss.
NOTES:
I didn’t really have much else of Carl Bradford left except for his Sage card. A few days later I got in his Upper Deck that I hoped to eventually get signed but the league folded before that happened.
At the season ticket holders party, Carl was a great ambassador for the XFL. His exuberance and excitement was infectious to all the fans around him. He was willing to sign anything you had and gave you his full attention while doing so. We chatted briefly about the AAF and the card he had, to which he told me he had a stack of the player issued cards at home somewhere, and he had an amazing experience playing for the Hotshots.
Deatrick Nichols played cornerback for 3 years at South Florida from 2014-2018. He concluded his college career with 174 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 3 forced fumbles, 24 pass deflections, and 11 interceptions for 109 yards and a TD.
He wasn’t selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, but made the squad of the Arizona Cardinals eventually being elevated off the practice squad and into the lineup a few times during the season. After being waived, Nichols was selected by the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL 2020. Deatrick led the XFL with 3 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, a sack, and 24 tackles in 5 contests.
After the league suspended operations, Deatrick has been on the off-season rosters of the New Orleans Saints, and the Miami Dolphins.
Celebrating the game, the players, the cards, and the autographs for over 25 years.
